When you digest carbohydrates, they become glucose. That glucose enters the bloodstream. The pancreas releases insulin, a hormone that acts like a delivery driver. Its job is to move glucose from the bloodstream into the cell.
In a healthy, low fat context, the cell opens and accepts the glucose. Energy is produced. Blood sugar returns to baseline.
What Insulin Resistance Really Is
Insulin resistance happens when the cell cannot respond properly to insulin. Why? Because of excess fat inside and around the cell. This is lipotoxicity.
Fat interferes with insulin signaling. The delivery driver knocks, but the door does not open efficiently. Glucose and insulin build up in the bloodstream.

8 to 10 grams of carbohydrates per kilo of body weight.
5 percent of daily calories from fat.
Daily movement, ideally 12,000 steps or more.
