Freelee The Banana Girl responds to Dietitian Abbey Sharp.
Abbey Sharp is a Canadian Dietitian who reviews 'What I eat in a day' videos on YouTube, especially of vegans and of Freelee The Banana Girl's 'Raw Till 4 Diet'. As Freelee notes in today's video: Abbey Sharp has strategically positioned herself as an authority in the vegan movement; in order to sell her Mindful Glow CookBook and gain YouTube subscribers. Abbey Sharp the “health professional” is regularly sponsored by the meat and dairy industry, in particular by Maple Lodge farms (one of canada’s biggest chickens producers), Ontario pork and Dairy farmers of Canada. We can only imagine how much they are paying Abbey?
Abbey is about 10 years younger than Freelee and has around 138,000 subscribers on youtube. As Freelee states - it's crucial we critique Dietitian's like Abbey Sharp's online recommendations as she is positioning herself as an expert in nutrition and reaching hundreds of thousands of girls with her message. In today’s video Freelee highlights Abbey's hypocrisy and clear abuse of her Dietetics position for money. Abbey’s recommendations to hundreds of thousands of women is literally dangerous and the way she feeds her child is just deplorable and disturbing.

Here is today's video by Freelee on Abbey Sharp:
Freelee admits to being angry when she discovered the non-stop cruel sponsorships Abbey was receiving while still pandering to unaware vegans. Angry because she cares. Abbey Sharp is clearly using veganism, animals and Freelee's name to spread sickness throughout the world while at the same time being a meat eater sucking up and paying lip service to veganism. Freelee and others have dedicated their lives to the protection of animals and caring for young women’s health and Abbey comes along promoting and profiting off the very thing vegans (actual vegans) are fighting so hard against.
So a few months ago Dietitian Abbey Sharp did an entire sponsored video called “Veggie Packed Keto Deli Roll Ups 3 Ways | Easy Low Carb High Protein Snack Ideas” where she cheerfully recommends a class one carcinogen to her young audience, salty nitrate-filled cancer roll ups that cause colorectal cancer according to the World Health Organisation: https://www.who.int/features/qa/cancer-red-meat/en/
Freelee is mind-blown. Abbey sharp is a registered Dietitian recommending this cancer-causing food! Here is Abbey's video:
The comments section raises legit concerns:
"Abbey here promoting colorectal cancer for money. Great message!"
Abbey Sharp is pro-dairy yet ignores the health concerns associated with Dairy: https://www.pcrm.org/search?keys=dairy
In the video above “Diet changes for colon cancer prevention” Abbey Sharp promotes eating dairy products on national TV as a way to help reduce colon cancer and cites a study from… guess who? From the Dairy farmers of Canada! Literally a Dietitian recommending dairy for colon cancer prevention when it’s the high fibre plant foods like oats and fruit that are accompanied WITH the dairy which are key. Why would a dietitian recommend dairy for colon health when there is a plethora of science opposing the inclusion of dairy in the diet? Not to mention the Canadian food pyramid no longer recognises dairy as a food group? The reason is, because Abbey Sharp is being influenced and largely controlled by the dairy industry. That’s why.
As Freelee states in her video - Abbey is so deceptive about her true intentions that for a long time many of her viewers even thought she was vegan. She soon realised it was getting uncomfortable so was forced to make this convenient orthorexia story "Why I’m Not Going Vegan | My Orthorexia Story" video filled with excuses why she can’t be vegan. As Freelee says: Saying NO to consuming animals and their secretions isn’t being restrictive, it’s just being a rational compassionate human being. Animals are not a food group.
It doesn’t end there.
A few years ago Abbey made this utterly disturbing video “My farm to table adventure”. It makes Freelee question her sanity. Click here to watch the video. (edit: Abbey has now removed that video from YouTube). As Freelee states in today's video: If you think this woman is a friend of veganism then you, my friend, have been played SO hard. Abbey is a wolf in sheeps clothing. And has Abbey Sharp changed since these previous videos? No. She has just become even more strategic; just a more cunning wolf.
Fast forward to this video in late 2018 where she is advertising her book "The Mindful Glow Cookbook" (which gets a 3.4/5 star rating by disappointed readers) Abbey cheerfully prepares buffalo, chicken egg rolls, aka heart disease wraps containing more health and animal-destroying ingredients.
Abbey Sharp clearly isn't a friend of veganism and her wolf-mask slipped in her What The Health Review . "A DIETITIAN'S Thoughts on WHAT THE HEALTH Food Documentary". Her criticism in this video is conveniently focused on character performance rather than the validity of the science shared in the documentary. This is clearly because she is sponsored by the meat and dairy industry. As one commenter aptly points out:
"She seems angrier at Kip and the film than she does at what it's actually trying to portray which is the danger of meats. Half the time she was just yelling at how many times they said the word "pus" or Kip's journalism skills. Does any of what she's saying have anything to do with how diet affects your heart health?"
To round all this up. Freelee's message is: Do not trust this wolf in sheep's clothing. Paying lip service to veganism is NOT supporting veganism. Abbey Sharp is only furthering animal exploitation and suffering in on our world and must be stopped. Freelee will be making more videos on Abbey Sharp in the future and is planning on a series on her new channel: The Women's Weight Loss Expert.
